Getting A Black Belt In Leadership


There is a old story of a young man who wants to learn martial arts. He enters a studio and gets and interview with the sensei. The sensei asks the young man why he is there. The young man explains than he wants to have a black belt. The master opens a drawer in his desk, pulls out a black belt and hands it to the young man. “There you go,” says the sensei, “now get out.” Every young martial arts student is told this story and everyone believes that it was his teacher who said it. (It probably is something that many teachers have done just for the sake of having the rights to tell the story.)
