A Year of Momentum and Opportunity
2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Mexico’s vacation ownership sector. As travel demand remains strong and digital tools reshape how we design and deliver guest experiences, AMDETUR is doubling down on its commitment to innovation, talent, and growth. Our mission is clear: support our members in building a resilient, secure, and forward-thinking industry.
From digital transformation and cybersecurity to talent development and cross-sector partnerships, the year ahead will be defined by strategic evolution and new pathways that lead to long-term success.
Anticipating Regulatory Shifts: Cybersecurity and Compliance
A key issue on the 2026 agenda is digital trust. In Mexico, new legislation on cybersecurity and data protection is expected to move forward in Congress. This comes at a time when cybercrime is increasingly sophisticated and data breaches have direct consequences on reputation and customer confidence.
For AMDETUR, preparing our industry for these shifts is not just about compliance, it’s about responsibility. We are working to ensure our members are equipped with tools and guidance to protect their clients and their operations. This includes promoting best practices in digital security, fraud prevention, and legal readiness for an increasingly digital landscape.
We believe that strengthening cybersecurity is part of strengthening the guest experience itself.
The Power of Talent: Connecting Developers with New Generations
No transformation is sustainable without the right people. That’s why AMDETUR is launching a talent recruitment initiative in partnership with an international job-matching platform, giving member companies access to a wider and more diverse pool of candidates across disciplines.
As part of this strategy, we will also host our first-ever recruitment fair in Cancún, offering a space where the vacation ownership industry can meet and inspire the next generation of talent. We want to build long-term professional careers that elevate the sector.
AMDETUR Academy: Knowledge, On Demand
Training and education remain core to our mission. In 2026, we will officially launch AMDETUR Academy, a dedicated platform housing the best of our educational content such as webinars, recorded sessions, industry papers, and more. Organized by theme and available on demand, we want to encourage the personal and professional growth of our community.
The platform is designed to serve as both a library and a learning space, with resources accessible to member companies at no extra cost. It complements our ongoing efforts through the Vacation Ownership Management Program, which continues to provide in-depth executive education aligned with the latest market needs.
AMDETUR Congress: Opening New Pathways
Our flagship event, returns on September 7 and 8, 2026, in Mexico City at the Camino Real Polanco Hotel, under the theme “Opening New Pathways.”
This year’s congress is built as a strategic forum, designed to explore how we can expand our market, reach new customer segments, and collaborate across industries. Expect conversations that go beyond diagnostics, focusing instead on bold decisions, cross-industry connections, and tangible opportunities.
With curated panels, TurTalks, and the return of our innovation-driven Marketplace, the event will once again bring together developers, suppliers and government allies to co-create the future of our industry.
Looking Ahead with Purpose
As our industry faces a new era of technological, demographic, and economic transformation, we are committed to ensuring that our members have the tools, talent, and vision to thrive.
We invite you to join us on this journey, as we open new pathways toward a more secure, dynamic, and connected vacation ownership experience in Mexico and beyond.
