Push Yourself, But Also Pace Yourself for the Big Wins!

By Dr. Malachi Henry, Mobius VP-Sponsored Professional Triathlete

It’s been a busy and successful few weeks as I’ve competed in several races, including a triathlon in my hometown of Columbus, Indiana and most recently the Chicago Triathlon. We took home big wins in both competitions!

The Chicago Triathlon consists of three races. A Super Sprint triathlon on Saturday morning, and then Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons back-to-back on Sunday morning.

I won all three races which then led me to win the overall triple challenge, which combines the time of all three races!

This race is important to push yourself, but also to pace yourself so that you still have energy for the next race. It’s a good lesson that can be applied in many facets of life, including business. Look at the overall big goal, understand what it takes to achieve it, and be smart. Know your limits.

The Columbus race was a shorter race – a 500 meter swim, 12 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run. I got the win and am reminded that working together is how we achieve our goals. I appreciate the sense of community running this race in my hometown.
